HOLIDAY HOOTENANNY!

9p - All Ages - $5 at the door

Ten Gallon Cat presents three incredible local groups playing American Music that will get your feet stompin', heart pumpin' and your barn burnin'. Come on down to The Crux on Saturday, December 14th and get down at this Holiday Hootenany!

THE COUNTRY CLUB
The Country Club is a band of veteran musicians from Boise, Idaho playing original and traditional music from the front lines of the nostalgia wars. While their sound is clearly drawn from the well of classic country, honky tonk, old time, and bluegrass, it rings and twangs with modernity and occasional urbanity. From dark and dirty to clean and pristine, the sound of the Country Club is as at home on the range, in a barn, as it is downtown, in the club or a bar.

Jonah Shue, Dave Manion, and a posse of fully deputized rhythmists including Ben Brault, and Bill Parsons do their best to perform a variety of Westernized Musics for entertainment and other purposes.

HOKUM HI-FLYERS
We play Appalachian old-time mountain music, as well as other forms of unplugged 1920s/30s American roots music (Cajun, swing, traditional country). High-energy fiddle tunes will get you on your feet and hollerin' at the rafters. You will find us at the Weiser Fiddle Festival every June as well. We serve up hokum and we serve it hot!
https://www.facebook.com/HokumHiFlyers

HILLFOLK NOIR
Fronted by singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Travis Ward, Hillfolk Noir is a trio of neo-traditionalists playing traditional music on traditional instruments for non-traditional times. They call it Junkerdash, and it’s a sound brewed from folk, bluegrass, punk, string-band blues and other influences musical and otherwise. Recommended pairings: Drinking and dancing.

Hillfolk Noir has performed with Built to Spill, Neko Case, Justin Townes Earle, James McMurtry, Deer Tick, Gourds, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, The Devil Makes Three, Charlie Parr, Dark Dark Dark, Finn Riggins, Gerald Collier, Caleb Klauder, Train, Glen Phillips, Jesse Dayton, Neva Dinova and tons of other great acts that you may or may not have heard of.

ABOUT IDYLTIME: Idyltime is a dynamic four-piece acoustic string band playing original Americana music out of Boise. Idyltime was conceived in the Summer of 2010 in Glasgow, Ore., when four musicians collided by chance. What was intended as an afternoon jam quickly spun out of control. The twister worked its way through Coos County, blistering fingers, emptying whiskey bottles and leaving all in its path tuckered out from dancing long into the brisk coastal nights. In 2011, half of the band (Beth and Tate Mason) moved to Boise and a short hiatus ensued. Recently they've teamed up with Boise old-time favorites Ava Honey and Dave Daley and as a four-piece are continuing to bring the music to the Treasure Valley.
